ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team competed Saturday at Cornell's Upstate Challenge at Barton Hall. The Bombers faced six Division I schools and one fellow DIII school.

Ithaca had a trio of ECAC qualifiers and seven top 10 performances on the day.

Sophomore Aaron Matthias raced to a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. He hit the ECAC qualifier with a 22.73 finish. Junior Dennis Ryan raced to an ECAC qualifier in the 1,000 run. He placed seventh crossing the finish line in 2:33.97. Classmate Rashaad Barrett again met the standard in the 60 dash placing ninth in 7.10.

Freshman Sean Phillips narrowly missed the qualifier in the mile run clocking in at 4:26.08. Senior Brennan Edmonds placed seventh in the 400 dash in 51.92.

The Bombers had three top-10 finishers in the field events. Senior Brendan Wilkins cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump to place ninth. Placing 10th, senior Christian Stremmel had a 12.77-meter heave in the shot put and sophomore De'Marquis Graves had a mark of 13.25 meters in the triple jump.

The Bombers will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 1 hosting the Empire 8 Indoor Championship at Glazer Arena.
