ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team (4-14, 0-8 E8) lost to Hartwick (12-6, 7-1 E8) Saturday afternoon, falling to the Hawks by a score of 76-58 at Ben Light Gymnasium.

Keefe Gitto led all Bombers with 15 points, two short of his career high. Gitto also paced the Bombers with eight rebounds. Sophomore

Frank Mitchell chipped in eight points, an assist, a block and a steal.
Ithaca shot 41 percent from the floor, connecting on 25-of-61 shots. The Bombers were 5-of-23 from beyond the arc (21.7 percent) and 3-of-6 (50 percent) from the free throw line. Hartwick hit 30-of-66 shots from the floor (45.5 percent), including a mark of 7-for-19 (36.8 percent) from three-point range.
Ithaca came out strong against the conference leading Hawks, jumping out to a six point lead on two occasions in the first five minutes of play. Hartwick poured on the offense in the ensuing 10-minutes, outscoring the Bombers, 27-11, to take a 10-point lead. Ithaca chipped away in the closing seconds of the half, but still trailed the Hawks by a score of 37-28 at the break.
The Bombers were never able to take the lead back in the second frame, eventually falling to the Hawks by a score of 76-58.
Ithaca is back on the court on Jan. 28, facing off against Elmira in a midweek tilt. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
