ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College gymnastics team improved its team score for the second consecutive meet and scored a season-best total of 175.925 Saturday at Ben Light Gymnasium in a tri-meet against Springfield and Ursinus. Springfield placed first with a total of 184.575 and Ursinus was second with a score of 180.125.
Shilanna Gallo was second on uneven bars and
Megan Harrington placed third in all-around for Ithaca. Ithaca posted its highest team score of the season as a team, and also in three event totals -- uneven bars (43.175), balance beam (42.750) and floor exercise (44.750).
Gallo led Ithaca on uneven bars for the third meet in a row, posting a season-best score of 9.5 to place second overall in that event. Harrington was third on all-around among four competitors with a total of 36.725, her best score of the season.
Harrington was Ithaca's top performer on vault with a 9.275 to place seventh overall.
Ingrid Calfee and
Alexis Mena tied for eighth with scores of 9.225. Harrington also led Ithaca on balance beam with a fifth-place finish and a score of 9.125.
Lara Haberle was seventh with a 9.0 and
Kate Woodward was eighth with an 8.925. On floor, Harrington scored 9.375 to place fourth.
Ingrid Calfee was sixth on floor with a 9.225.
Ithaca will return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brockport.
