SCRANTON, Pa. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team (4-10) lost a non-conference road contest to Scranton (11-3) Tuesday night, falling to the Royals by a score of 67-51 at the Long Center.

Frank Mitchell paced the Bombers with 20 points and 11 rebounds to secure his sixth double-double of the season. Classmate
Tom Sweeney chipped in 14 points, also contributing six rebounds and a block. Senior
Chris Jordan led Ithaca with five assists.
Ithaca shot 34 percent from the floor, connecting on 18-of-53 shot attempts, including a mark of 3-for-14 from beyond the arc. The Bombers shot 70.6 percent from the free throw line, while Scranton connected on 19-of-24 shots from the charity stripe. The Royals hit 22-of-56 shots, shooting 39.3 percent from the floor.
The Bombers opened the first half on fire, scoring the contest's first six points, including four straight from Mitchell in the first four minutes of play. Scranton answered back with an 11-0 run, taking a five point lead on the Bombers with 11:33 left to play in the first.
With just over two minutes remaining in the half, Scranton's lead grew to 11. Ithaca closed the opening stanza with a 7-2 run, cutting the Royals' lead to 30-24 at the half.
In the second half, Ithaca cut Scranton's lead to four points on three different occasions. However, the Bombers weren't able to get any closer, as Scranton went on to the 67-51 victory.
Ithaca is back in conference play on Friday, Jan. 17 with a road contest against St. John Fisher. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
