MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team (4-0) rolled through Morrisville Saturday afternoon, crushing the Mustangs by a score of 9-0 in the Bombers' first road contest of the season. Three Bombers tallied two scores a piece, including sophomore Danielle Coiro, freshman Kelly Consadine and freshman Lauren Delia. Senior Katie Kennedy and sophomores Olivia Salindong and Taylor O'Neil also recorded goals in the win.
Sophomore Katie Lass picked up the win to move to 4-0 on the year. Sophomore Blaire Janney also saw time in net, playing the final 26:44 to close out the game.
Ithaca dominated throughout the contest, outshooting the Mustangs by a 62-1 margin. The Bombers registered 23 shots on goal and held Morrisville to zero shots on net. Ithaca recorded nine penalty corners in the victory.
The Bombers scored four goals in the opening frame, starting with Kennedy's tally just 1:52 into the contest on a feed from Caitlin O'Brien. Coiro followed with a goal in the eighth minute before back-to-back tallies from Consadine at 18:19 and 22:06.
Salindong scored the first goal of the second half in the 38th minute before Coiro netted her second of the game less than two minutes later. O'Neil's first goal of the 2013 season came in the 53rd minute, before Delia capped the scoring with back-to-back goals in the 60th and 61st minute.
Ithaca's 9-0 win pushes the team's season goal total to 25. The Bombers have allowed just four goals the entire season, thanks in large part to two shutout victories.
The Bombers return to Higgins Stadium on Sept. 11 for a home contest against Cortland. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
