SOCHI, Russia – Ithaca College men's soccer player
Brandon Glass was recently accepted into a competitive internship program with NBC, giving him the opportunity to travel to Sochi, Russia for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Over 95 events in fifteen winter sports will be held at the 22nd Winter Olympics, which is scheduled to start on Feb. 6, 2014. Glass, who started 12 games for the Bombers this season, will stay in Russia for nearly a month, spanning Jan. 29 – Feb. 24.
"I am extremely excited to work for such a prestigious broadcasting and media company in NBC and to be around world-class athletes," said Glass.
He will be stationed at the International Broadcast Center, which is within walking distance of most of the Olympic venues. He will work in 12-hour shifts as a "runner," covering a number of duties over a broad spectrum of events.
"I hope to take this once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget, and use it as a launching pad for my career in journalism."
Glass, a junior midfielder, has recorded six points in 29 career starts for the Bombers.
