Sculling Ends 2013 Season At Small Boat Collegiate Challenge

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Ithaca College sculling team completed its 2013 season on Sunday, competing in the Collegiate Small Boat Challenge at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The Bombers had four boats compete, all containing two-person crews.

A first-place finish in the collegiate "D" final was the highlight of the day. The tandem of Stephanie Zang and Lindsay Beatty took the top spot, finishing in a time of 8:03.90. Ithaca finished nearly five seconds faster than Pennsylvania, with the Quakers earning a second place finish in a time of 8:08.56. The Bombers' second boat in the race earned a fifth place finish, as Megan Barry and Dominique Lessard completed the coarse in a time of 8:21.05.

Other Ithaca participants included Anna Schenk and Julia Schaeffer, who finished the collegiate doubles "B" final in a time of 8:15.96. Stevie Theoharidis and Maureen Gildea rounded out the Bomber contributors, a sixth place finish with a time of 8:35.02.
