ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College football team moved into first place in the Empire 8 with a win on Saturday, and on Sunday moved into the national rankings in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll for week nine. It is Ithaca's first appearance in the D3football.com poll since the middle of the 2009 season.

Ithaca defeated Frostburg State 23-0 on Saturday to improve to 7-1 on the season, and 5-1 in the Empire 8. Ithaca's next opponent, Salisbury, was ranked 23rd in last week's D3football.com poll, but fell out of the rankings following a loss at Alfred. Ithaca can clinch a share of the Empire 8 championship with a win at Salisbury at noon Saturday.
