AURORA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team (2-3) picked up its second win of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating the Wells Express (0-4) by a score of 71-64 at the Farenthold Athletic Wing.

Sam Bevan finished the game with his first career double-double, recording 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists. Senior
Frank Mitchell led the Bombers with 23 points, tying a season best. He also added nine rebounds, an assist and a block.
Ithaca trailed Wells the entire first half, with the Express holding as much as an eight point lead on three different occasions in the opening frame.
Trailing by six with under two minutes remaining in the half, the Bombers responded with a five-point run to cut the Wells' lead to 38-37. Two made free throws from Bevan and a clutch three-pointer from sophomore
Joey Ross gave Ithaca momentum heading into the break.
The Bombers took their first lead of the contest in the opening seconds of the second half, thanks to a pair of free throws from Mitchell. Both teams exchanged buckets in the first seven minutes of the final frame, locking at 50-50 with 13:12 left to play. From that point forward, Ithaca took control and never looked back. The Bombers went on a 12-4 run, taking a 62-54 lead over the Express.
Ithaca cruised for the remainder of the game, securing the 71-64 win over Wells.
The Bombers' next game is the first home contest of the season, when Ithaca takes on Cortland on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.
