SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Ithaca College gymnastics team was edged by less than a half point as the Bombers dropped a 181.375 - 181.100 dual meet Sunday at Springfield. Tiffany Grube won the floor exercise for the Bombers, and Ithaca improved its team total for the second consecutive meet, attaining its highest overall score of the year.

Grube's total of 9.575 was her season best on floor, and edged Valerie Cohen who took second with a score of 9.550.

Megan Harrington led Ithaca College on the balance beam with a score of 9.175 to finish in a tie for second place.

Ithaca gymnasts scored well on the uneven bars as Rani Jacobson was second in the event with a score of 9.250 and Chelsea Robie and Christine Niles tied for third with 9.200. Cohen was second on vault with a score of 9.375.

The Bombers host Cortland and Springfield on Saturday at the Hill Center.
