Molly Braid enters her second season as the head coach of the women's golf program at Ithaca College in 2016-17.
In her first year on South Hill, Braid led the Bombers to four Top-5 team finishes, which included the program's sixth-consecutive Empire 8 Conference title. Three of her golfers secured Empire 8 All-Conference accolades, which included Empire 8 Player of the Year Indiana Jones, while Braid was named the conference's Coach of the Year.
Braid, a member of both the PGA and LPGA, became Ithaca College's second women's golf coach in program history during the summer of 2015. A native of New Hampshire, she came to Ithaca after most recently serving as the director of junior golf at the Dana Rader Golf School, a top-25 ranked golf academy by both the Golf Channel and Golf Magazine.
While at the Dana Radar Golf School, Braid taught over 5,700 hours of instruction under the tutelage of Dana Rader, a former LPGA National President and Master Professional. Braid holds certifications from the Titleist Performance Institute, BioSwing Dynamics, Vision54 Coaching, and United States Kids Golf.Â
Braid was an active member on the LPGA National Communication Committee from 2012-to-2015. She has also served as an LPGA Member Advisor, and was the Co-Site Director for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Charlotte.
Braid was the recipient of the US Kids Top 50 Instructors- Honorable Mention Award for four-straight years from 2011-to-2014. She also earned the Ballantyne Hotel Franchise Player Award in 2011, an honor given to those who show the ability to be a motivated, service orientated and creative team player.
Braid is a 2008 graduate of Pfeiffer University, where she earned a degree in exercise science and sports medicine. Braid was a member of the Pfeiffer women’s golf team and served as a SAAC representative from 2005-08. Following graduation, Braid volunteered as an assistant coach and mentor at Pfeiffer from 2008-12.
