Rinae Olsen

Rinae Olsen completed her fourth season as the Bombers’ assistant coach in 2017. Olsen came to Ithaca after serving as an assistant coach at Utica for four seasons (2010-13). Olsen holds a number of responsibilities with the Bombers, including travel management, recruiting, fundraising, scheduling and practice and game preparation.

Olsen has helped lead the Bombers to a 115-50 overall record in two seasons, including an 44-10 mark in the Empire 8. She aided in guiding the Bombers to the first overall seed in the Empire 8 Tournament, a conference title and an NCAA appearance in 2014. The Bombers would also host the E8 Tournament in 2016 and 2017, coming away with the postseason championship in 2016. IC would then reach Super Regionals in 2016, and earned an at-large bid to the tournament in 2017.

In four years as a member of the Utica College softball team (2006-2009), Olsen started in 144 games and closed out her career tied atop the school’s all-time games played list with 146. She ranks fourth all-time with 119 career hits, third all-time with 71 RBIs and third all-time with 161 total bases.

As a senior captain for the Pioneers, Olsen capped off her four-year career with a stellar season, which included a career best 39 total hits. She batted .319 in 38 games and tacked on 20 RBIs to go along with eight runs scored, while being named 2009 Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Originally from Schenectady, N.Y., Olsen graduated from Utica in May of 2009 with a degree in public relations.
