Mike Silipo, a 2011 Ithaca College graduate, completed his second season as an assistant coach on the Bomber men's lacrosse staff in 2015. In 2014, he helped guide Ithaca to a 15-5 record, an Empire 8 championship and its first NCAA appearance in six seasons. The Bombers advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 with a 13-4 first-round win over Montclair State, before bowing out to top-ranked RIT, 20-8.
Silipo returned to Ithaca in 2013 after serving as an assistant men's lacrosse and football coach at Williams College for two years.
During his first year on the lacrosse staff at Williams, he served as the Ephs' defensive coordinator, goalie coach and recruiting assistant. In July 2012, Silipo shifted positions to become the offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, film coordinator and faceoff coach. While on the football coaching staff, he filled several positions during three seasons with the Ephs. Silipo served as the tight ends coach, running backs coach and video coordinator.
A midfielder and senior captain for the Bombers, Silipo helped Ithaca to a record of 48-23 from 2008-11. The Bombers competed in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament each of his four years and twice played for the conference crown. Ithaca won the title in 2008 and advanced to the NCAA semifinals.
Silipo played in 69 games for the Bombers scoring 47 goals and adding 15 assists for 62 points. He tallied 120 ground balls and forced 53 turnovers during his career and was a second-team All-Empire 8 selection as a senior.
