Joe Solomon completed his fifth year on the Bomber staff at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
During his tenure at Ithaca, he has helped the program to a 72-24 record, which includes a pair of Empire 8 Conference titles and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his arrival on South Hill, Solomon served as the goalie and defensive coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Upstate rival SUNY Cortland. He was also the General Manager and goalie/defensive coach for the Iroquois Nationals team that finished in third place at the 2008 ILF U-19 World Championships in Vancouver, BC, Canada.Â
Solomon has a wealth of playing experience post-collegiately including international play. An integral member of the Iroquois Nationals teams during the ILF World Lacrosse Championships in 1994, 1998, 2002 & 2006; Solomon anchored the defense in goal with fourth place finishes in 1998, 2002 & 2006.
A 1992 graduate of Cornell University with a BS in Biology, Solomon was a member of three NCAA tournament squads. One with Cornell in 1989 and two at the US Naval Academy in 1987 & 1988 which he attended before his transfer to Cornell University. Solomon has also obtained BS in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University in 2004 and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
