Katie McDonough completed her first season as an assistant coach in 2014, helping the Bombers to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history. The Bombers won their third consecutive Empire 8 title to advance to the NCAA playoffs. She has joined the staff in an enhanced role as a full-time assistant coach for the 2014-15 season.
A 2008 graduate of Colby College, McDonough was a senior captain for the Mules. Selected team MVP, she was named to the All-NESCAC second team, was a Maine All-State First-Team selection and earned All-Northeast Region honors. McDonough finished her career with 1,241 points and 729 rebounds. She was also a four-year standout on the women’s soccer team. McDonough graduated as the all-time leader in assists and twice tallied second-team All-NESCAC honors.
She served as the varsity girls basketball coach at Worcester Academy for three seasons and assisted in afternoon sports programs at The Taft Summer School for several years.
McDonough earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Colby and most recently received her master’s in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2012. She is a secondary mathematics teacher.
