Dave Auble rejoined the Bomber coaching staff in 2004 after helping the program to three national championships during his first stint.

The long-time assistant coach was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in June of 2010.

Auble was named Division III Assistant Coach of the Year by Wrestling USA magazine in 1989 after the Bombers won their first NCAA title. A year later he helped head coach John Murray guide Ithaca to a second straight championship and the program claimed its third national championship in 1994.

Auble was a standout wrestler at Ithaca High School and Cornell University. Competing at 123 pounds, he won NCAA championships in 1959 and 1960 and Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association titles in 1958, 1959 and 1960. In 1960 he was named the outstanding wrestler at the NCAA championship meet. Four years later he competed at the Olympics in Tokyo, placing fourth.

Auble spent the previous seven seasons as head coach at Division I Campbell. His coaching career also includes a stint as head coach at UCLA as well as time as an assistant at Cornell, Michigan State and North Carolina State.
