Beth Greene

Beth Greene concluded her 15th season with the Bombers in 2024-25, working with the women’s rowing and sculling teams, and her first as head coach. Following the retirement of longtime coach Becky Robinson, Greene was named the 10th head coach in the history of the Ithaca women’s rowing program.

Greene helped guide the Bombers to their seventh consecutive Liberty League women’s rowing title, highlighted by a victory in the Varsity Eight (V8+) race at the 2025 championship. Her as well as assistant coaches Gregg Seiz and Tara Masters were named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. Ithaca claimed wins in both the Varsity Eight (7:28.011) and Varsity Four (9:21.015), while placing second in the Second Varsity Eight (7:56.870) and Novice Four (9:38.282). With the conference’s automatic qualifier, the Bombers advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships, where they placed fifth in the V8+ Grand Final, finishing in 6:44.628—just 6.942 seconds behind the winning boat.

Under her guidance, Ithaca scullers have earned top finishes at the Green Mountain Head, Head of the Fish, and the Collegiate Small Boat Challenge. Her novice sweep crews fare equally well each spring, and are regular medalists at NY State Championships. Greene was part of the team that coached Emily Morley '16 at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

As a rower, Greene enjoyed an undefeated novice year with the Ithaca Bombers. She raced in the 1998 NCAA Championships, was the program’s first First-Team All-American, and earned Ithaca’s Outstanding Achievement Award as a senior. After college, Greene competed at the elite level, sculling at several National Championship, Canadian Henley, and National Team Selection Regattas.

Greene graduated Ithaca College in 2000 with a BA in Drama. She maintains a CSCS designation, and instructs Emergency Health Care and Personal Fitness courses at the college.
